Behind the Scenes: How Our Bangkok Workshop Makes Sustainable Jewelry
If you've ever wondered what goes into crafting your favorite dainty hoops or minimalist rings, we’re giving you a behind-the-scenes look into Loytee Jewelry ’s ethical production process—right from our Bangkok workshop.
This is more than just jewelry. This is craftsmanship with purpose. 🌿
A Day Inside Loytee’s Bangkok Workshop
In the heart of Bangkok, our family-run workshop hums with creativity, precision, and purpose. It's where skilled artisans and sustainable practices come together to create jewelry that’s both beautiful and meaningful.
From recycled silver to plastic-free packaging, every step is intentional.
Here’s how we do it:
♻️ Step 1: Recycled Materials, Responsibly Sourced
We begin with certified recycled sterling silver—refined from previously used metal. This drastically cuts down on mining impact and waste.
We also offer gold vermeil options using thicker layers of gold over sterling silver, combining beauty, durability, and ethical sourcing.
✅ We avoid nickel and harmful alloys
✅ All materials are tested to ensure hypoallergenic quality
✅ Gemstones are selected for traceability and beauty
🧑🏭 Step 2: Handcrafted by Skilled Artisans
Unlike mass-production factories, our jewelry is made by hand, not by machines. Our team of artisans—many of whom have worked with us for over a decade—specialize in:
-
Wax carving
-
Casting
-
Stone setting
-
Polishing & finishing
Every piece passes through at least 10 hands before it reaches yours.
This commitment to craftsmanship gives each ring, earring, or necklace its own unique character—and ensures long-lasting quality.
🧼 Step 3: Low-Impact, Non-Toxic Finishing
Our finishing process is designed with the environment in mind.
-
We use non-toxic plating solutions
-
We treat and recycle our water used in polishing and cleaning
-
We avoid harsh chemicals that are harmful to workers and the planet
For gold jewelry, we use PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) plating where possible—a modern, more eco-friendly alternative to traditional electroplating.
📦 Step 4: Eco-Friendly, Thoughtful Packaging
We ship all orders in plastic-free packaging, using recyclable boxes and compostable tissue paper. Each piece is stored in a reusable cloth pouch—no foam, no waste, no frills.
Your customers will love the unboxing experience that’s beautiful and planet-conscious.
💬 Step 5: People Over Profits
We believe ethical jewelry starts with taking care of people—not just the planet.
At our Bangkok workshop, we provide:
-
Fair wages well above industry minimums
-
Healthcare and paid leave
-
Ongoing training and career advancement
-
A safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment
Many of our team members are mothers, artists, or second-generation jewelers. Your order supports real families and craftsmanship passed down through generations.
